G'day. My name is Callen Neasmith and I am a London based digital and graphic designer. Currently designing at Made Thought, previous studios include Alphabetical Studio, Studio Mass, Love + Money and Studio TunTun. At the moment, I'm in the Hackney Marshes and learning how to play pool. Get in touch and let’s make some cool shit.

SELECTED PROJECTS

G.F Smith launches the Colour of the Future survey - an initiative combatting the loss of colour our world is experiencing. We see increasing neutral pallets around the globe from our homes to our workplaces to even nature itself. An immersive digital experience activates the GF Smith Colour the Future campaign through an interactive solar eclipse-style graphic and gyroscope for mobile users. Designed and developed at Made Thought.

    EXTERNAL LINKS

To celebrate the 4 years of the HÖR platform, the 4x4 Anniversary hosted two events at some of Berlin's iconic venues. A visual identity driven by the brutalist aesthetics of Silent Green and the iconic tiled HÖR bathroom, a modular design system was implemented moving between '1,4 and 16' digital poster layouts. 3D artworks commissioned by Ollie Bradford.

Queering the Schubertiade, a contemporary salon, concert and party celebrating queerness through live performance. An intimate, informal gathering reflected through a "undesigned", "meta-style" digital experience encouraging more unconventional forms of engagement within the site itself. Designed and developed in conjunction with Olly Evans.

Sticky Buttons is unearthing rhythmic treasures of the bygone, repressing and celebrating a diverse selection of music from around the world. The approach is hallmarked by a typographic style that is inspired by libraries and archives, reimagined in the digital age. Expressions of Sticky Buttons become contemporary artefacts combining this notion of the archive with an eclectic, decontextualised image language.

A functional, modular and inviting site design for Modern Type. Taking cues from old windows operating systems with engaging pop up windows on the landing page showcasing scripts on offer. Includes design for blog, shop and input fields for trialling. "Modern Type is an Australian typeface foundry with an aim to build stronger foundational knowledge of non-euro centric perspectives that are rooted in cultural context and multi-script outcomes."

    EXTERNAL LINKS

A Naarm-Based music and arts initiative creating welcoming, surreal spaces celebrating music and community. Love Project shares its passion for music through beautiful events and sharing performances of local and international talent. Love Project branding encapsulates a moment of serenity, manifesting in beautiful, singular graphic languages that focus on fidelity and focus. The graphic system implemented is versatile, reductive yet recognisable to represent the bespoke, understated nature of the brand.

Sunny Press is a joint collaboration born from lockdown reflecting on changing relationships with nature throughout a period of isolation. The small press hosts a mixture of words and art from friends and family - hoping to encourage contributors to 'look on the bright side of life'. Sunny takes on a sophisticated yet playful editorial design style, breaking conventional type boundaries through experimenting with engaging layouts. Sunny's pieces can often feel confronting but aim to give readers a new lease of life as we begin to enter a new COVID-Normal.

Essa is a restaurant based in Brisbane usually set in dark moody lighting for a fine dining experience in Fortitude Valley. Sunday School sees Essa open it's doors to all walks of life with big open windows, plenty of light, plenty of booze and a more casual laidback vibe. Posters and digital deliverables were made for annoucement purposes which strike against the conseravative and somewhat solemn appearance of the Essa brand.

'Business As Unusual: Melbourne' is a photographic archive documenting the devastating effect COVID-19 has had on business small and large within Victoria's Capital City. Images depict a diverse scope of creative licensing through typography as many undergo the disappointment and uncertainty of closing their store or dramatically changing their policies. The result: A jarring and beautifully unique collage of artworks presenting the same core message. 'Business As Unusual: Melbourne' collates this signage in a way that represents the interference and chaos the pandemic has caused for Melburnians.

I've learnt best from other's transparency and generosity with their inner workings and so in similar fashion, invade my digital personal space as much as you want. See link below. Cheers!
